This simulator is designed for practice of intramuscular and hypodermic injections on the upper arm. The inner anatomical structure of thorax and upper arm is shown to teach proper injection so

the trainee can make an accurate choice of injection to avoid the danger of injecting the needle into nerves and veins in the upper arm muscles.

· Significant landmarks including acromion and deltoid can be palpated. The inner nerve, blood vessels and bone of the upper torso can be observed, including: cervical, thoracic lumbar vertebrae, brachial plexus, subscapular nerve, axillary nerve, median nerve, ulnar nerve, radial nerve, superior vena cava, internal jugular vein, subclavian vein, axillary vein, median cubital vein, basilic vein, cephalic vein, aorta, vertebral artery, axillary artery, etc.

· Realism:

1)   Realism of appearance and performance necessary to provide realistic practice for trainees

2)   Subcutaneous & intramuscular injection skills can be enhanced with the soft, lifelike skin and the natural bony landmarks

· Key Features:

1)   The outer skin has been specially processed to provide a very realistic simulation, and it leaves no injection marks, thus to keep the model in good condition

2)   The acromion apophysis and deltoid muscle are included making it possible to confirm injection spots by palpation

3)   Lights in Green when correct injection and depth. Lights in red and a buzzer to provide feedback on bone contact, wrong localization or too deep injection

4)   Simulated liquid can be injected and later been drained away

5)   When an injection is made in a wrong spot or if it’s made too deep, a red light will turn on, a buzzer sounds a warning, and a nerve lamp displays where the error has been made. The model also displays a green light for injections made in safe spots. These indicators reinforce correct technique and prevent users from making the same mistakes
